The FE-1100 Home Monitor

The FE-1100 Monitor is the sensing unit that you install in your home to enjoy all the benefits of the FireEar services. The unit is small, measuring about 4 inches in diameter by 1.5 inch high. Its installation takes a few minutes and can be easily performed by anyone.

The FE-1100 Monitor requires a connection to an electric wall power jack. This connection is used to power the unit and to sense whether there is a power outage in the home. There is also a battery compartment in the unit to hold 3 AAA alkaline batteries (included), to provide backup battery power in case of a power outage.

Uses Standard Telephone Communication & Toll Free Number

The Monitor must also be connected to a standard telephone jack. The telephone connection is used to communicate with the FireEar service center by dialing a toll free telephone number so you don't incur telephone charges. You must, however, have an operational phone line for the service to function. The unit also provides two telephone jacks, as seen on the picture at right, so that you can connect a telephone after the unit is connected to your wall jack.

Simple to Operate

The FE-1100 monitor is simple to operate. There is one push-button used to enter the training mode so the unit can learn the sound of your existing smoke detector. There is a green light and a red light, used to inform you about the current state of the unit.
