Mark Goodfriend, Chief Executive Officer
Mark Goodfriend has over 35 years experience in senior and general management positions driving growth of early stage and emerging companies, forging strategic alliances and accelerating corporate profits. He has held a variety of senior roles at startups, including twice as Chief Executive, at software firms serving the insurance industry and as co-founder of a nickel-zinc battery company. Prior to this for 15 years, Mark served in a variety of senior management roles at DHL Worldwide, and for eight years, he worked directly with the primary DHL founder on a range of startup companies. He held several senior management roles at DHL, including Global Director of IT, Chairman and CEO of NetExpress (a DHL joint venture with Canon), President and CEO of Cocos Lagoon Development Corp, and Senior Vice President of the Bank of Saipan. Mark holds a BSEE from the City College of New York and did his Masters work in Aeronautics and Astronautics at NYU with honors.
Joseph Shatara, Chief Operating Officer
Joe Shatara has over 30 years experience with 15 years in information technology and operations management within start-ups, large enterprises and rapidly changing emerging environments. Previously, Joe was an operations consultant in numerous technology industries including COO of DDRnet Inc. and Sr. Vice President of e-Commerce at Network Commerce Inc., which acquired his prior startup, CardSecure, Inc. Prior engineering and management positions include General Manager of the Hewlett Packard organization in Saudi Arabia, and Senior Electronic Engineering R&D roles at Memorex, Inc. and ESL, Inc. Joe holds a BSEE degree from California State Polytechnic University and graduated with honors.
Jean-Marc Patenaude, Chief Strategist & CTO
Jean-Marc Patenaude has 19 years experience launching and building high tech businesses at Rambus, Broadcom, LSI Corporation and Nortel Networks, where he held corporate and senior management roles in marketing, corporate strategy and engineering. Patenaude founded and grew LSI's HyperPHY™ business to exceed $80M of annual revenues and built Rambus’ serial link IP business to over 50 customer design wins. Patenaude holds a BASC in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, a Masters of Engineering degree in Electronics from Carleton University and has completed two executive education programs on business strategy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Larry Sikon, Chief Financial Officer
Larry Sikon has over 35 years experience in finance and information technology. Sikon was chief information officer at Thomas Weisel Partners, a San Francisco investment bank, and held executive IT roles at Banc of America Securities, Merrill Lynch, LPL Financial, Union Bank and Chase's Institutional Banking Group. Previously, Sikon was the chief information officer with DHL Worldwide Express and the chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Senterprise, Inc., a web-based software service provider. Sikon holds a BS in Mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
Rick Thatcher, Vice President, Major Account Sales
Rick Thatcher has over thirty years experience in insurance, health care, and technology companies and is an accomplished sales and marketing executive, with particular expertise in consultative sales and major accounts. Rick began his career in the property/casualty insurance business with CIGNA Corporation. He held a series of management positions there, at one time being responsible for establishing and monitoring surplus requirements for lines of business, including homeowners. He also served as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Reinsurance. Rick graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College (B.A., Mathematics) and received an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Bob Bossman, VP Sales
Robert Bossman has over 30 years experience in retail and industrial sales through Westinghouse, as a Samsung Electronics representative, and several startups. Bossman picked up Samsung Electronics two years after they entered the US and represented them for 25 years. For the last 20 years, Bossman was part of Samsung¿s strategic planning committee, and represented over a third of their business nationally - about $500 million annually when Samsung put in their own sales force in 2004. Bossman started a campus refrigerator rental company that has grown to 27,000 rentals, and has worked with several startups. Bossman holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Evansville.
Steve Chick, Vice President, Engineering
Steve Chick has over 25 years experience managing teams of engineers developing advanced communication products, automated notification systems and alarm system hardware. Chick was previously Vice President of Engineering at Sentinel Vision, and Director of Engineering at Motorola. Chick previously worked closely with Sony as an engineering consultant and has spent nearly a decade developing alarm systems hardware at Wells Fargo Alarm. Chick holds a BSET degree from the University of Central Florida.
